I've been aiming my torch between the bottom and middle of the chamber each time. But I have found the half bowl packed to 50% capacity or less is a pretty nice microdose. Light roast/Top ring = 10-20 sec (Good vapour production with amazing flav)Įxperimenting with doing daytime vaping before my runs recently, mainly as an excuse to vape more lol. Medium roast/Center oven = 20-25 sec (Great vapor production with great flav) My Fav Ride the line (RTL)/Thermal battery = 30-35 sec (great vapor production with minimal flav) Blazer firefox ) i would recommend these heating times If you CAN get the thermal battery to click in 30-35 sec (ie. Light roast/Top ring = 25-30 sec (less vapor production with amazing flav) Med roast/Center oven = 35-40 sec (good vapour production with great flav) If you have a smaller lower powered pocket torch that CANT get the thermal battery to click in 30-35 sec (note: you will not be able to RTL)ĭark roast/Thermal battery = 45-50 sec (great vapour production with great flav) My Fav This chart should help give you an idea of some heat up times to aim for then you can fine tune it to your liking You can try testing your flame length/technique by installing an empty chamber and time the heat up while aiming for a 30 sec click, set your flame around an inch long maybe and see how quickly that heats up. I try not to heat any faster than a 30 sec click on the battery, the lowest i would go is around 25 sec. Try holding the flame slightly further away or turning down the torch a bit, if your combusting you are most likely heating the battery too quickly. Bowl size is definitely subjective though and will be up to individual usage patterns. I’d definitely be curious to try the larger bowl, as I think that would turn the volume up a few notches. It puts out a solid and sturdy can of condensed milk, without a ton of effort (for a butane device) all things considered - but I’m usually still needing more than one bowl.

IMHO the stock bowl is kinda on the smaller side for me, I’m a bit surprised people were comparing it to injector ball vapes with the Anvil bowl size being what it is. I wouldn’t say it can go around a whole drum circle, like a joint, but one or two people could get some nice rips off of one heat up. I can get quite a few of those shorter inhalations within a click. I definitely get those hybrid vibes with this vape, as it delivers thick vapor nearly instantly, without the needed extraction time you’d expect with pure hot air convection. That said, with such a quick extraction I never found the flavor to be too off putting unless I over roasted the bowl.įor my roasting preferences I find I’m heating closer to the middle of the tip than at the thermal battery, but occasionally I’ve dipped my toe in the deep end of the poolĮven though I vape through glass a majority of the time I’ve actually been enjoying the Anvil native, just taking real short 2-3 second puffs like how I’d rip the Mighty. But the claim of 95-99% convection, I don’t really taste it.

I do think it has more convection than that other platform.

I loaded J1 and KushWreck and never really got that loud and live lip smacking lemonade stand flavor that I’d expect from a full convection vape. IMHO It’s not full convection, in fact the first time I heated it up and saw the tufts of vapor purging from the air inlet (via conduction) I realized this might have more in common with that other platform than some had led on to. I haven't encountered any whispy "primer" hits using the Anvil, like some other portables might deal with. This device makes it easy to get your daily dose of full fat milk, even when aiming higher up the tip. Even short, "doobie" inhales still produce copious amounts of steam. The Anvil is capable of putting out some dense, thick, creamy vapor.

I've been playing with the Anvil for a couple days now, these are some of my early impressions.
